  • A WINTER DAY IN BOSTON

Alas! Snow has finally fallen, magically coating the streets and trees throughout the city. With this fresh snowfall, it feels as though winter is finally amongst us. To celebrate this whimsical time of year, and to catch up before parting ways next week as we head back to college, a few friends and I decided to spend the day wondering around the city we will always call home–Boston, Massachusetts.

Boston is impeccably charming this time of year. We decided to start our day of by roaming through the Boston Common as well as the Boston Public Garden. It truly felt as though we were walking in our own kind of winter wonderland–but a very, very cold winter wonderland, I might add. The temperature was on the brink of unbearably freezing, but we definitely didn’t let that stop us from having a fun-filled day.

I used the frosty weather as an excuse to wear one of my favorite christmas gifts, my Calvin Klein Single-Breasted Button Front Coat. I absolutely adore this coat because not only are camel-colored wool coats extremely on trend at the moment, they are extremely warm. You totally can’t go wrong with a coat that’s both warm as well as chic! Under my coat I paired my favorite Paige jeans with my toasty Anthropologie gray knit turtleneck. One thing about me is that I am an absolute bootie-fanatic. Although I have countless pairs of booties, ranging in color and style, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to purchase yet another pair when I noticed these utterly adorable pointed-toe Steve Madden booties to be on sale at my local DSW. I thought that wearing these booties into the city it would spice my look up all the more.  For accessories, I stayed warm by pairing my grey knit pom pom beanie from Primark with my Anthropologie patterned open-finger gloves. I love to throw an element of pattern into as many looks as possible. Last but not least, I completed my look with my coffee-colored suede crossbody bag from Banana Republic. This bag is my go-to essential. Not only does it fit all of my necessities, it is super trendy and can often be visually compared to designer dupes.

Following our rather scenic stroll, my friends and I decided to shop along one of our favorite streets in the city, Newbury Street. While on Newbury, we took a break from the cold to satisfy our hunger as we stopped at Cafeteria Boston, one of our favorite lunch spots. We warmed up by enjoying comfort food such as baked mac and cheese and grilled cheese with a side of tomato soup.

After some more time spent strolling along the crisp city streets, my friends and I decided to end our day on a rather sweet note. We decided to enter the world of chocolate heaven, also known as Max Brenner’s Chocolate Bar. Max Brenner’s is a chocolate-central cafe/restaurant (yes please!) My friends and I warmed up with a variety of specialty hot chocolates. I ordered the ‘Swiss Whipped’ hot chocolate and let me tell you, it definitely didn’t disappoint! We also ordered some milk chocolate fondue for the table. Overall, it was a perfect ending to a fun day spent in Boston!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my very first blog post! I have always wanted to create my own blog, and finally that aspiration of mine has come true! The way you write make it especially trouble-free to read. And the design you use, wow. Its a really good combination. And I am wondering what is the name of the theme you use?
