Quite possibly my favorite thing about the spring season is spring fashion. Every spring season I love to read about about and try out the new trends. This season I’ve really been loving kimonos–shocker! I am a huge fan of kimonos in general, and I love them for pretty much every season; however, I think they are particularly perfect for spring weather. During this time of year, the weather fluctuates so kimonos can often be a perfect layering piece. I adore this kimono from Anthropologie (sold out now, similar here and here) because not only is it flowy and light, its floral pattern is a spring classic–Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking. (If you don’t get this reference we can’t be friends.) Layering the kimono over my outfit definitely completed my look and made something unique out of this simple outfit.
Underneath my kimono, I tucked a simple white, high-rise tank into my favorite jean skirt (on sale now!). I tried to keep my outfit under the kimono pretty simple and classic because there was a lot going on with the kimono, as it was the focus of this look. For jewelry, I wore my current favorite choker from Apricot Lane Boutique in Fairfield, my gold pendant necklace, a silver mantra band and a simple ring. I am a huge fan of incorporating pieces of jewelry into my outfits as I feel doing so ads an essential element of detail, completing any look. Because this day was pretty sunny, I also wore my Madewell sunnies–a current favorite of mine. For shoes, I wore my Platinum Jack Roger Sandals–another summer staple.
I must also add that these pictures, like others before, were taken at Fairfield Beach, located in close proximity to Fairfield University. With the conclusion of my freshman year at Fairfield, I look back at all of the wonderful memories made at this beautiful beach. I absolutely cannot wait for three more years spent wandering about, and frolicking around this this beautiful place I call home.
