I know I say this a lot, but definitely one of my favorite things about attending college in Connecticut is that I am only a short train ride away from New York City. Throughout the school year, my friends and I took great advantage of this amazing aspect. Although it is amazing during all seasons, I particularly enjoy visiting the city during this time of year. The warm, beautiful weather makes for enjoyable days spent strolling around! Also, not to mention how green and alive the city is this time of year! To kick off the end of our Freshman year, my friends and I took a fun girls day trip to SoHo. SoHo is without a doubt one of my absolute favorite parts of New York city. From its stunning architecture to chic cafes, there is really no place quite like it. I remember visiting SoHo for the first time about four years ago when I was in high school. At the time I was ~obsessed~ with British Youtubers such as Zoella. I used to love watching her videos and taking fashion advice from her. After watching one of her videos, I became absolutely convinced that I needed to buy a particular praised outfit of her’s from TopShop. Because there wasn’t a TopShop near me, I was ecstatic when my parents told us we’d be going to NYC. I made my parents take my to SoHo to shop at TopShop, and since then I’ve been in love with the charm and beauty of the neighborhood!
While in SoHo this particular time, my friends and I decided to hit up Two Hands Cafe for some lattes and avo toast (my favorites! π ) I had been dying to check out Two Hands Cafe for years, and was so excited that I finally had the opportunity to go. The cafe definitely lived up to all of the hype! The poached-egg-topped avo toast that we had was ~amazing~, and definitely lived up to the standards of us avocado toast fanatics π Our almond milk vanilla lattes were also not half bad!! (10/10 would recumbent Two Hands Cafe).
Because the weather has been nice, but rather chilly so far this summer, I find the outfit I wore on this particular day to be very relevant. I decided to go for an all white outfit, while I accessorized and layered with neutral tones such as light pink and brown. I began by pairing my white capris from American Eagle (similar here) with a white detailed tank from Anthropologie (similar here). Because it was kind of chilly out, I layered my light pink textured jacket from Anthropologie (sold out, similar ones here and here) over my outfit. I absolutely ~adore~ this jacket for multiple reasons. First, I think that the structure of it so extremely trendy–perfect for a high-fashion place such as SoHo! The jacket is structured in the sense that it looks very put together and sophisticated, yet not too serious as it also gives off a chill, relaxed vibe. I also love the texture and weight of the jacket. The texture is very different, making it a such a beautiful, unique piece. This jacket also isn’t too heavy; however, it gives off enough warmth, making it the perfect layering piece for colder summer days. Finally, the light pink coloring makes the jacket one of my faves. I am obsessed with incorporating neutral tones into my looks, and light pink is such a perfect color for this time of year. For shoes, I decided to continue with my light-pink-trend and sported some cute thong sandals from Loft (similar here). For accessories, I wore my go-to pink dangle choker and gold pendant necklace. Finally, I toted my leather Madewell bag and blocked the sun with my Ray-Ban sunnies!
