For me, one of the very best parts of the summer season is going to festivals, and with these festivals comes great fashion. For the past few summers, a local surf and skate shop, Levitate, has thrown the biggest music and arts festival on the east coast. People travel from all over to attend this festival as they enjoy great music, food and local artwork, with friends and family. Because Levitate Music Festival is located in my town, you would think I’d been many times before–not the case! This summer was actually the first time I’d been to the festival, and let me just tell you–it definitely did not disappoint! We totally lucked out on the weather being nice, which entailed for a fun, festival-filled day! My friends and I enjoyed jammin’ to countless local acclaimed musicians, our favorite being Ziggy Marley (cough, cough the son of Bob Marley–nbd though π ).
I am such a huge fan of summer festival style, so I definitely had a ton of fun planning my look for the Levitate Festival! Huge shocker here, but I am a super big fan of off the shoulder tops. I find them to be extremely flattering and very beautiful. Gotta love a little upper chest exposure! π I thought that the off the shoulder trend would be the perfect accompanying piece to my festival outfit, so once I spotted this poofy, cloud-like top at Free People, I was sold. Not only is this top super on trend atm, its material is really nice–making it an all around A in my book! Because this top is new to Free People, it is a little on the pricy side, so consider trying this other top that I just snagged from Brandy Melville as an alternative! When it comes to festival style, denim is major key. To boot, if you can pull off tying an element of fringe or frayed edges into your denim piece, you’re golden. When I saw these trendy boho denim shorts at Free People, I knew I had to have them for this look! They went perfectly with my top and are the perfect summer shorts for any outfit! To spice things up and incorporate more Bohemian flare to my look, I decided to pair my wrap-up gladiator sandals from Free People (similar ones here) with my outfit. Sandals of this style are super cool and are perfect for summer festival looks! Finally, I accessorized with a cute dangle choker, my Ray-Ban sunnies, and my go-to crossbody!
