  • Caramel Lattes and Terrain Gardens

Definitely one of my favorite things about attending school in Fairfield, Connecticut is that the surrounding area is so great. There is an abundance of cute shops, cafés and restaurants practically everywhere you look. It is definitely safe to say that my friends and I have taken full advantage of this aspect.

A few Saturdays ago, a couple friends and I decided to check out Terrain Garden Cafe, situated in the heart of Westport, Connecticut. Upon entering the building in which the cafe was located, I was instantly in awe. The building itself was extremely stunning–mirroring a sort of Anthropologie-themed garden. The interior was very botanical in a natural, yet utterly chic, manner.  The actual cafe itself was alone something to be noted upon. We were seated among stunningly artistical natural scenery, making us feel as though we were brunching in a sort of whimsical fairy universe. While sipping chilled water from vintage glass mason jars, our waiter brought over our foamy lattes in painted red mugs. In this moment, it became clear to me that none of us had truly lived prior to experiencing the satisfaction of sipping caramel lattes while situated within Anthropologie-themed gardens πŸ˜‰ Along with my latte, I also enjoyed a delicious cauliflower sandwich which was hands down one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. For those of you that really know me, you will know my love for cauliflower. Because of this, this sandwich that included cauliflower, avocado (another one of my favs;)), frisèe, parmesan mayo and parsley was nothing short of amazing. On the side, I also enjoyed some herb seasoned fries–a major necessity πŸ™‚

For this day, I decided to dress very boho-chic, while channelling neutral, earthy tones. I started off my pairing my favorite high-waited black jeans from American Eagle with my Alpaca Wool Pullover sweater from Free People (sold out now, similar ones here). To really highlight this sweater, it is definitely one of my favorites. Not only does the Alpaca wool make it extremely warm during chill afternoons, the sweater maintains a very uniquely chic element to it, and by this I am talking about its sleeves. The sleeves of this sweater in some ways resemble a poofy cloud in the sense that they poof out then get tight again around my wrists. Recently, I have been very interested in articles of clothing with unique sleeve details because I really feel as though it brings something unique and beautiful to the entire look. This sweater of mine has been one of my favorites for the past year or so that I’ve had it. A few months back I, very sadly, misplaced it. However, when I came back to school after spring break, my mom found it jammed under my dresser. Since then, I’ve held an entirely new level of appreciation for this stunning piece πŸ˜‰ For shoes, I decided to spice things up a little bit and incorporate a little bit of heel into my overall look. I decided to wear my Sole Society open-toe block heeled booties. These booties are extremely trendy and are the perfect transition into Spring shoe, thanks to their cutouts. I honestly feel as though you can never go wrong with a good block heel for a fun girls-day outing. Too add, the booties’ suede and earthy tones were perfect for a day spent in a garden cafe. Also, because it was a little chilly out, but not cold enough for a jacket, I decided to finish my look off with my favorite sherpa vest from Bloomingdales.
