  • A Chilly Beach Day Look

Every year, I look extremely forward to Memorial Day Weekend. Not only does this weekend represent and acknowledge all of the brave Americans who’ve fought for, or continue to fight for, our country, it is an amazing opportunity to spend time with friends and family. Aside from honoring my grandparents, two fallen war veterans, my Memorial Day Weekend is generally spent enjoying the warm sun, whether it be at the beach, the pool, or my town’s annual arts festival. Although this Memorial Day Weekend was far chillier than normal, my family and I didn’t let that put a damper on things.

This year, I spent the holiday weekend in Kennebunkport, Maine with my cousin Lane. Spending time with my cousin in Kennebunkport is one of my favorite summer activities, as the area is almost too beautiful for words. We spent our days adventuring around scenic locations, devouring fresh seafood, and sipping chilled rosé on the beautiful Goose Rocks beach (what more could you ask for:)).

As mentioned, the weather was much chillier than it normally is this time of year, so I had to dress accordingly. Recently, I have been very into flowy, beach pants. Not only are they super trendy and practical for colder summer days, they are extremely comfortable (much more so than jeans!) Pants of these kind are perfect for any spring or summer day when the weather is less than hot. The pants that I chose to wear on this particular day are one of my current favorites from Anthropologie (sold out, similar here and here). The coloring and material of these pants are extremely beautiful, giving the pants the ability to be dressed up or dressed down. Because these pants have a hight-waisted fit, I decide to pair my new favorite Brandy Melville cropped tank with them. I love this top because it can pretty much be worn with any outfit. Although this element of the tank is not pictured above, the top ties in the back, adding an element of unique style to the clothing piece. For an extra layer of warmth–and to shield myself from the strong gusts of wind–I threw my go-to Free People cardigan over my outfit. To me, the material of this sweater is extremely beach-appropriate, making the cardigan perfect for the look I was going for. For shoes, I wore my Birkenstocks–definitely a new summer staple of mine. These shoes are utterly comfortably, and I highly recommend that everyone snag themselves a pair ๐Ÿ™‚

P.S. peep my cousin’s shadow as she captures pictures of my outfit with my iPhone because I forgot my camera’s memory card lol!

With the way the weather has been acting, chillier future beach days seem likely. But do not fear! Just put together a comfy–yet chic, beach day outfit and you will be good to go;)

I have a lot of exciting content coming this month so be sure to subscribe to keep up to date! ๐Ÿ™‚
